Tiled Pitched Roof Conservatory Conversions
A glazed or polycarbonate conservatory roof can make your conservatory feel too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
Glass and polycarbonate are poor insulators , and it’s quite common for homeowners to find the glare in both the winter and summer unbearable.
A Leka roof system will transform your glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof with excellent insulation set into a solid, tiled conservatory roof to create a more usable space year-round.
How we use the LEKA Roof system
Is your conservatory always too hot or too cold? Are you looking for an affordable way to transform it back into a beautiful, useable space?
The Leka Warm roof is a proprietary system renowned for its superior performance and durability compared to conventional glass and polycarbonate roofing systems. Its patented status ensures that our roofs are built to a consistently high standard.
Below, you’ll find an overview of the LEKA construction process. As a general guideline, we typically complete the equivalent of 5 square meters per day. Consequently, a conservatory measuring 15 square meters would require approximately 3 days for installation give or take a little extra time that’s alotted for more intricate or complex shapes.

Step 1
GRP Rafters
We remove and fully replace your conservatory roof with ‘Glass Reinforced Plastic’ ring beam and new GRP rafters. GRP offers superior characteristics, such as being lighter, stronger, and boasting greater longevity when compared to both aluminum and UPVC alternatives.
Step 2
Insulation and outer boards
Our insulation blocks have an impressive U-value of 0.15, and for those seeking even greater thermal efficiency, we offer the option to upgrade to 0.12. Following this, we install exceptionally efficient outerboards, guaranteed to be 100% waterproof, topped with a breathable membrane.

Step 3
Tapco Slate tiles
Our roofs feature Tapco Slate, the ultimate lightweight tile that emulates the authentic look of slate. With a variety of colour options, you can seamlessly match or create striking contrasts with the unique ridge tiles.
Tapco tiles undergo rigorous testing, meeting BBA, UKTA, and ETA standards, while also bearing UKCA and CE markings. These certifications cover essential aspects such as fire resistance, wind resistance, protection against driven snow and rain, as well as water absorption. Our roofs are built to last and are sturdy enough to support human weight.
Step 4
Finishes
Your LEKA Warm roof will include brand-new fascias, gutters, and the option to select a hassle-free, low-maintenance ceiling. There’s also the option to elevate the aesthetics and functionality of your new ‘room’ by incorporating skylights, lighting fixtures, or even opting for plaster and paint to create the perfect ambiance.

Guarantees
2Hot2Cold proudly offers a 10-year service guarantee for LEKA Warm roofs, along with a 10-year insurance-backed warranty, which is securely underwritten by The Consumer Protection Association. Additionally, Tapco Slate tiles come with an impressive 40-year manufacturer’s warranty.

FAQs
The LEKA Warm Roof is a lightweight, thermally efficient solid roof system, designed to replace existing conservatory roofs or complete new conservatories. Built from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) and high-performance insulation, it outperforms traditional timber or aluminium roofs in terms of thermal efficiency, durability, and weight.
A LEKA Warm Roof can typically be installed in 3-5 days, depending on the size and complexity of your conservatory. Plastering and interior finishes may require additional time.
Replacing an existing conservatory roof with a LEKA Warm Roof usually does not require planning permission. However:
- If you are extending or altering the structure, planning permission may be required.
- Listed buildings or homes in conservation areas will require consent.
Always check with your local planning authority for specific guidance.
Yes. Building Control approval is required for all solid conservatory roof replacements in the UK.
However, LEKA Warm Roofs are pre-approved by MFA Building Control, a government-licensed private inspector:
- Your installer will handle the certification.
- No need to involve your local council’s building control.
- A Building Control Certificate will be issued upon completion, giving you proof of compliance with UK Building Regulations.
The LEKA Warm Roof offers industry-leading U-values as low as 0.10 W/m²K (better than most competitors).
This reduces heat loss in winter and keeps your conservatory cool in summer, making it comfortable to use all year round.
A U-value measures heat loss. The lower the U-value, the better the insulation.
LEKA Warm Roof U-values start from 0.10 W/m²K, far surpassing traditional polycarbonate or glass roofs.
