We often get asked why we use Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) products and what’s so special about them. So we thought it would be helpful to explain.
GRP, also known as fibreglass, is polyester resin and chopped strands of glass fibres, which are mixed together to form a flexible fabric. GRP is a moulded product, meaning it must be placed in or around the shape of the item it is required to take.
GRP fibreglass has been around since the 1950s, but new production methods mean it has now been developed into a state of the art and superior material. It’s very strong and long lasting, but also light, flexible, fully reinforced, waterproof and capable of being moulded to any shape.
How do we use it?
We use it in two ways: for our flat roofing materials and as our GRP rafter replacement roof system.

They are also very easy and safe to install as well as being a very cost-effective option that are highly suitable for our thermally efficient systems.
